Newborn Workshop with Naomi Hewitt

Just over a week ago I had the privilege of attending a mentoring workshop with my absolute favourite Newborn Photographer in the world; Naomi Hewitt. I was so excited when I heard she was coming to Australia, and the workshop did not disappoint! It was awesome to watch her process from start to finish, add to my own knowledge, and challenge myself to continually grow in my photography journey.

We had two gorgeous little newborn girls to practice with. The first was a tiny little newborn who didn’t open her eyes once the whole shoot, despite all of us hovering over her, taking turns to take photographs. We got to see Naomi’s process from start to finish, and ask lots of questions.

The second was a bigger newborn about the size my littlest girl was at birth, which made me very nostalgic! She was more inclined to have a chat with all of us, even giving us a few smiles, which gave us the opportunity to learn newborn photography tips for the awake newborn, until she too finally fell asleep for the sleepy newborn poses.
It was a fantastic experience, and I am so excited to try out some new tricks with my next newborn photography session!
